COMMERCIAL ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR

This position requires electrical estimating for design-build in the commercial industry. Chosen applicants will be responsible for communicating with team members, customers, project managers, contractors and suppliers while using excellent communication and sales skills.

 

Job Description

 

  • Understand architectural drawings and specifications

  • Attend pre-bid meetings (take pictures, field measurements, assess existing conditions as needed)

  • Visit job sites, walkthroughs, meetings as needed

  • Read through specifications, study drawings, and understand project scope

  • Determine project variables; prerequisites, bonds, HUBs, long lead time items, subcontractors, etc.

  • Submit RFQ for long lead time items or discuss with Operations subcontractor options

  • Measure project, perform material take off; consolidate measurements and numbers

  • Contact manufacturers and submit request for material pricing; verify best prices

  • Utilizing measurements and numbers create job estimate

  • Review job specifics, system components, and site restrictions

  • Determine labor constraints and estimates

  • Determine equipment and tools needed 

  • Submit estimate for review to the  Director and perform changes as needed

  • Finalize estimate and create proposal

 

 

Requirements

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial electrical estimating projects between $100k - $2 million range

  • Must have estimating experience with large commercial projects; Tenant buildings, warehouses, machine shops, welding shops, offices, retail spaces, ground-up

  • Detail oriented

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Team player and strong drive to get job done on time

  • .Strong communication skills 

  • Stable employment history

  • Must have a flexable schedule and able to work over 40 hours a week if needed

  • Commercial electrical design experience

  • Understand NEC codes
